Boston, Massachusetts, Overview : Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) is an international 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Boston’s historic Back Bay whose mission is to advance the highest ethical standards in the conduct of biomedical, behavioral, and social science research. What you’ll do: The Marketing and Communications Assistant supports the marketing and communications efforts for PRIM&R, with particular focus on social media marketing, email marketing, and event preparation.
Writes, proofs/edits, produces, and disseminates marketing content for social media, email, print, and web.
Supports external exhibiting activities by researching and maintaining a list of planned events, processing paperwork for attendance, compiling and shipping materials, and executing appropriate exhibition visitor follow-up.
Researches leads/contacts for mailing lists, marketing best practices (with a particular focus on social media), and background for new and existing projects.
Supports PRIM&R events by preparing signage, slide presentations, and print materials and managing PRIM&R’s conference photographer.
Acts as a member of the organization’s customer service team (answers phones, processes registrations and memberships, monitors announcements@primr.org inbox, etc.).
May assist with web tickets and collaborate with volunteer blog contributors as needed.
Relationships :
Internal: Works closely with the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager, and the Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Collaborates with the Public Engagement Manager on social media strategy. Must communicate regularly with all other department staff to create marketing content.
External: Communicates with exhibiting contacts. Works with conference photographer and occasionally with volunteer blog contributors. Acts as a member of the organization’s customer service team.
What we’re looking for: The ideal candidate will have excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills and be detail oriented. Creative thinking, the ability to work independently and problem-solve, and excellent customer service skills are essential. Familiarity with social media marketing tools (like SproutSocial, HootSuite, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite, web design/HTML, CMS software (such as Salesforce), and/or marketing programs (such as Higher Logic, Constant Contact, Mailchimp) is helpful, but not required. Salary & Benefits: The starting salary for this position is $38,000.
