Fairfax, Virginia, Marketing and Communications Coordinator, MCAA
George Mason University’s Mason Community Arts Academy (MCAA) seeks qualified candidates for the Marketing and Communications Coordinator position. This position works closely with staff members of MCAA to design, coordinate, and implement the Academy’s Marketing and Communications strategies and goals.

Responsibilities:
Marketing
Plan and track annual marketing expenses and optimize spending through creative solutions;
Manage Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics; track ROI and report analytic information to staff;
Coordinate, track, and analyze program survey evaluation and timely inform program coordinator and director on attentive issues;
Create email campaigns to previous customers for all seasons to promote registration;
Coordinate the distribution of summer postcards to campus and local libraries and community centers, etc.;
Collect/manage testimonials inventory for advertising and publicity purposes;
Photography/video editing and updating;
Liaison to CVPA for Marketing/Communications; and
Tracking summer and year-round enrollment in association with marketing channels and trends.
Website
SEO management & Webmaster Admin (Google Search Console, Webmaster Tools, etc.);
Website updates and maintenance (shared with Programming position);
Web asset management (photos, logos, etc.); and
Work with website developer when/if needed.
Communications/Social Media
Regular blogpost story writing, coordination, and editing;
Bi-Weekly e-newsletter coordination/dissemination;
Manage all social media channels content & coordinate posting calendar; and
Creating media kits to share Academy stories with CVPA and central communications.
Graphic Design
Advertising artwork design and layout (and manage assets);
Promotional print collateral design & layout;
T-shirt design and production coordination;
Special event designs (display tables, photo stations, etc.); and
Monitor and enforce cohesive branding in other areas (PMI Google forms, ActiveNet email templates, miscellaneous program printouts, supply lists, forms, etc.).
Advertising/Promotions
Print/electronic ad creation & placement (contact outlets, contract for ads);
Promotional pieces: creation & distribution; and
Summer catalog content and production management.
Extra/As Needed
Assist customers in person and on the phone as needed (secondary to other positions);
Attend Academy-organized events as a photographer, Academy representative, and event staff support (Arts By George, Spotlight on the Arts, Recitals, community outreach events, faculty appreciation events, etc.);
Serve as a point of contact for technology-interface requests from programming coordinator or faculty (YouTube live-stream, Dropbox Folder file sharing, performance recording, etc.); and
Provide administrative assistance for program registration as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in marketing or arts/arts management discipline;
Training in digital marketing/communications and graphic design;
Demonstrated experience in marketing and advertising creation;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud software;
Experience with content Management system (WordPress preferred) and web traffic analytics (Google Analytics, Goode Ads, Facebook ads preferred). Basic HTML coding is desired;
An understanding of current advertising and marketing best practices and website/SEO management;
Strong written and oral communication skills are required for publicity and other promotional materials; and
The ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage duties.
